MIXTAPE: Crystal Lite

I've been slammed with DMCA complaints for this post on multiple occasions. I'm not deleting this mixtape from my personal archives just because the Nazis at EMI can't handle me including not even the entire version of a song as part of a mix. I'm leaving this post up minus download links. Above is also revised artwork for those interested. For the actual mixtape, you'll have to look elsewhere:

"In the vein of a previous mixtape, Last Night Heavy Accents Saved My Life, Crystal Lite was put together as a mixtape for chill-out • post-party • day-or-night car rides, clocking tempos under 120 bpm. Taking a rest from the exhausting 130 bpm electro/house music out there, I wanted to highlight a well-rounded set of indie, chill/dream wave, and hip-hop influenced indie/electronic tracks.

Besides indie favorites Air, Clinic/DFA, The xx and Ratatat, I threw some fave tunes/artists keeping music interesting these days: Washed Out, Mux Mool, Toro Y Moi, Dam-Funk and Pski (aka Pilooski).

Download Crystal Lite below, just in time for vibing out to this Spring/Summer. Enjoy!"

REMIX: Twin Sister - All Around and Away We Go

Here's my first remix ever under the Heavy Accents name. I've been trying to find the right production tools to work with (and the right sound; I'm still experimenting but you have to start somewhere right?), but all I know is that I fell in love with the original Twin Sister track the first time I heard it.

I grabbed the "All Around and Away We Go" stems instantly once I realized that the band was freely distributing them. I sat down the vocal stem one night, and so began this remix that I couldn't put down for the next few days. You can stream my remix below via my SoundCloud or download and stream here: MediaFire + YouTube

MIXTAPE: Arizona

I wanted to let this mixtape speak for itself. Not necessarily an homage (and neither does the music reflect anything related) to the state, Arizona is mostly about good indie/electronic/dance beats catching my ear at the moment.

I do have a point behind the title that I don't want to push too hard, so I'll keep that a mystery for now. In the meantime, check out Flight Facilities (a new act from Australia - thanks Jon), a cut from the new Holy Ghost! EP, Nacho Lovers (their new single is summertime epicness!), Tracey Thorn (ex-Everything But The Girl) and VEGA (aka Neon Indian) all blended together for you on Arizona:

1. The Dominatrix - The Dominatrix Sleeps Tonight
2. Sugardaddy - Love Honey (Greg Wilson Edit)
3. Siriusmo - Femuscle
4. Crookers - Hold Up Your Hand Ft. Roisin Murphy

9. Nacho Lovers - Deeper
10. Kerrier District - Disclix
